Alternator Blown?

I hit my alternator with my filter wrench while changeing my oil filter, SPARKS.

Now my Alt isnt charging. Anyone do this?

Whats the scoop did I blow the Alternator.

Regulator and alt all in one?

Any tips on this ? Replace alternator. Auto zone/schucks OK, or should I get a new one elseware.

I disconnected and am charging my batts right now.

Check engine light went on 2 days after oil change. Noticed my AC blower sounded funny, then looked at my amp meter and its not charging.

Oh Crap!

You just popped the fuse in the PDC...I believe it's a dealer only item.

It's the big 140A fuse. It's marked in the FSM as Fuse GEN, but it should be pretty easy to find, if not, check the diagram in the PDC lid.

Crap if your looking for work, Alberta is the place to go. pretty much zero vacancy, Houses that were 100,000$ 4yrs ago are now going for 350,000 to 400,000. From all reports this trend will be staying this way for 5+ yrs, home builders cant keep up, the economy is nuts, I'm a courier (actually licenced Mechanic by trade) and today I cleared 380$ after tax and fuel, I have easier hours and make as much if not more than if I worked as a mechanic

Nick , House prices sored here out of control. People were paying insane prices. Crazy. It finally blew up. Now all these people that over payed are getting forclosed on . Others are paying for over priced houses that are not worth what the payed and their adj. arm loans are up and they cant refinace , so they will get forclosed on too.

Realestate people are begging in the streets for money so they can eat or trying another con game.

I suspect alberta is next.

GSP,
The PDC is the power distribution center. Is that your boat in your gallery? Looks pretty hot, but how far do you gotta go to run it out here? I wouldn't mind watchin' a few of those go at it, its been a while.

Yep I suspect what goes up must come down.... I'm extremely grateful that I bought my house 10yrs ago, friends of ours bought a 1970's fixer upper, all orginal (good for a car but not a house!!) 359,000, zero down 1800 per month for 40yrs.... for a house that 5yrs ago would not have fetched 115,000
Nuts for sure. anyway good luck in the home building business
