Adding fuel filter...
I want to add a spin on filter before the holley blue pump. Anyone know of a good yet inexpensive one? Where to get? I don't think I need a major one like a racor.
heres the permacool http://www.perma-cool.com/Catalog/Cat_page26.html.
I would definetly suggest a Racor fielter assembly. The one I have has a priming port and a pump to get rid of air when you change the filter. I also have a shut-off valve before the fuel filter to stop the flow of fuel when changing the filter.
Knowing how much these diesel trucks costs these days as well as the value of the expensive engine, the Racor filter is a small price to pay for extrea security.
Also, the Raycors have a "fuel heater" option that is great for cold climates which should prove very valuable driving in Boston.
I have the Racor on the frame rail as my pre-filter. I bought mine off of e-Bay for less than $100 shipped. I have two different ones which are Racor 490r & Racor 4120r. The filters come in 30 micron (P), 10 micron (T), & 2 micron (S) which is the suffix on the filter number.
I hope this helps!
