abs light
abs light
While running about 65mph down the road, loaded, the ABS light came and twenty seconds later the brake light come on. The engine codes have been checked and I got zero codes.
Can anyone give me any info on this?
Thanks.

Usually if it's the rear wheel speed sensor, you will also notice that the speedometer doesn't work properly below about 15 mph, it least that was the case for me. It is a relatively easy fix if this is the problem.

Thanks for the welcome and the answers! It could very well be the wss because I just noticed that my speedometer jumped from 0 to 20, nothing inbetween.
I do have one more question tho, where do I find that wheel speed sensor?
Again, thanks for your help!

It's a very easy repair but if you have 4 wheel ABS there are 3 WSS's.
Here is some info on 4 wheel ABS from another members post on this site.
"I have the 4WABS and my brake and abs light was on. Tested out the Wheel sensors right at the ABS module with an ohm meter in the engine compartment on the driver side fenderwell. They should Ohm out around 1400 Ohms. Using the main harness going into the ABS module, Use pins 1+14 to check the rear diff sensor, use 2+15 to check the Right front wheel sensor, use pins 3+16 for the left front sensor. I found the front right sensor out of spec, so I took it off and cleaned it up there was metal debris stuck to it and ohmed it out off the truck and it seemed ok, put it back on and the lights were off. I dont know if there was a bad connection or if the metal was interfering with it somehow, But for now all is good."

If the speedometer jumps, that means for sure it's the rear wheel speed sensor as that is the one controlling the speedometer. It is on the rear differential. Should be around a $15 part and is simple to change.

Thank you
I picked up a wheel speed sensor and replaced it ($45 from the dealership). Worked like a champ, the ABS light went off and the speedometer started working properly.
Thanks guys!
