99 4WD Cummins "quick-connect" tranny lines
99 4WD Cummins "quick-connect" tranny lines
Am completely without words for some mechanics. Here in Houston finally had enough, had all AC equipment replaced $$ and they broke a transcooler line (incoming), fluid all over the underside of the truck when I got it back. Took it back up there, swore they had no knowledge of it.(even when there was a quart over fluid amount, it must have multiplied by itself) When I pressed them hard they said they would correct it, got it back 2 days later was leaking again (outgoing this time). Replaced the whole line (both) a week later they're leaking again. These quick connects are lame. Seem to remember someone who worked for Catapillar used 250 psi hydraulic line and double-hose clamped them with no problems?? I am really peeved that dealers or Mopar parts are crap or their design is. Thanks for the help in advance
I didn't want to pay the money for the replacement lines so I used steel braided (inner braid only, rubber outter) hydraulic hose. Just make sure you flare the end of the hard line just a little, then use some good quality hose clamps. I only used one clamp at each end, never had a drop leak out.
