53 Block

Did any of you guys ever hear the number of 53 blocks manufactured, what percentage crack? i have one with 75,000 on it and i'm getting a little concerned.

I've never heard any percentages. I've got almost 350k km on my truck, and no crack. There are others that have very little mileage and it splits. Frankly, I wouldn't worry about it. If it cracks, it cracks. Unless you are gonna unload this truck before it cracks, just drive it and deal with what comes. JMHO.

actually i was considering unloading it before it cracked, i like the truck but with the vp issue and now i found i have a 53 block i'm wondering if i have a disaster waiting to happen

mine let go at 117,000 with no warning. mine as well go ahead and drive it like he said, if it crackes it crackes. either way, you should just keep driving it, if it does crack then worry about it but there are 53 blocks that have all the performance goodies that go well past 200,000 with no worries so it all depends. good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

230,000 miles, gots a new VP (unknown history of replacements)
53 block.

not knocking on wood. plenty out there that havent cracked.
