4wd light

When I kick it into 4x4, the light won't come on. Is that the sensor on top of the transfer case, and if so, are those known for going bad or anything? I tried tracing wires back, but they seem fine. First I noticed it was a while back when my buddy talked me into jumping a snow pile in a parking lot... Not sure if that had anything to do with it or not

Check the axle disconnect. There should be two vacuum lines running to it, chances are you knocked them off in the snow.

Check the vacuum lines, electrical wires and the CAD unit itself (down on the passenger side of the front axle). There will be a black and red vacuum line leading into the CAD. If your wiring and vacuum lines check out good, then it is probably the CAD unit itself. If the plunger inside does not move all the way to the left when put into 4wd, the light will not illuminate.

Thanks for the advice guys, havent got a chance to really check it out yet. I remember reading something about vac tubes before...but I don't remember seeing any under there last time I was lookin at it. Are all these trucks vacuum disconnected? I outta look before I post, but no sense in searchin for something that ain't there.

I thought it was 2003 they dropped it? I'm probably wrong though.

That did it, stuck a paper clip in the plug and my light came on, so i'll get a sensor tommorow, thanks a bunch. Glad I climbed under there, figured I may as well tighten my oil pan bolts, check the universals and my tranny fluid. Always workin on everyone elses vehicles, never get time to mess with my own.
