Ok, I already posted in the help section today but now its time to post here. In my other post i described that my tranny all of a sudden today is having a problem when starting out from a stop, like its in second. I guess this is called Limp Mode. It doesn't do it all the time, i drove around a total of 70 miles today and got it to go in to limp on a about 6 or so times. For a while it was running just fine today. Well tonight i decided to change the fluid and filter in the tranny. When i dropped the pan down i noticed the fluid was pretty dirty and the magnet was covered in "crap". I bought this truck used about 18,000 miles ago in Feb of 05. at the time it had 40000 on it now it has about 58000. Well from the looks of the trans filter it does seem that the previous owner ever had it changed. it looked dirty and was a mopar filter. After i got done with the filter, filter, and band adj, i drove it around for a bit so it was good and warm. The truck shifts a hell of alot better but it still stumbles once in a while off a stop like it did before but this time its not having to rev as high to move. I'm thinking of taking it in to get looked at in the morning, maybe theres a sensor bad. The other thing is that i have no codes showing on the scan tool so who knows. If it turns out i do need a new tranny about how much does a stocker cost to get put in? and how much does an ATS,DTT or Goerends cost? As of now i can only afford the stocker 47re but i'd still like to know about aftermarkets in case. Thanks for any resposes and help guys. And sorry about the long winded post.

My first post here. Been lurking for a while.
Blue: It sounds like your governor solenoid and transducer are going bad. My truck had the exact same symptoms as yours, and thats what was wrong with mine. My sensors went out at 105000 and now I have 110000 and have not had any more problems. I called DTT and told them what my truck was doing and they diagnosed it over the phone. DTT helped alot, cause the dealer wanted to replace a valve body for alot more $$$$. Do a search on the solenoid and transducer, Lots of info for you! Good luck

Your best bet to get tranny info is to sit down with a telephone and spend some time discussing you options with the builders. There are too many variables to say one is better than the others. You need to get a list of questions together and ask the builders. Then you can decide what you want. I have my recomendation, and others have theirs. You will get guys that say "Call XX Co" because they are the best. Others will say they are junk. They only way to know what is best for you is call the ones you want info from.

Well she's all fixed, it was the governor pressure solenoid and it only cost me a $100 deductable on my warranty. my truck on has 59500 on it and i didn't realize that 02 trucks also came with a 7/70 powertrain warranty. I bought it used and all i knew i had was the cummins warranty. Well its nice that i got it done under warranty.
