47re running back on limp mode
47re running back on limp mode
I just got the trans serviced 2weeks ago. Torque con, governor pressure sensor, and i think some bands replaced. Driving to work this morning, no excessive hotrod crap, and it drops to third gear from 40mph and din't move the next 7 mi. I read something about cycling the ignition 3 times to see trouble codes but I couldn't get anything to come up. Does anyone know exactly how to check, im not the brightest of bulbs.
Check your fluids first. Do a search here to find the right way to do it. If you have a digital odometer you turn the key on, but don't start, off, on again, off, on again and leave in on position and the computer will display codes in the odometer window.
I don't believe the "Key Trick" works on the 98.5's!
Check fluid level warm and in neutral...while running. Anything else will read higher than really is.
'fahtb0y' - You saying it now starts out in 3rd gear...from a stop? Will it shift from there to OD?
That's unusual but still sounds like a bad Govenor Solenoid. They usually start out in second, but shift ok after that.
What happens if you go through the grear manually?
