Unhappy 47re o/d problem

Tonight I was climbing a slight hill with the throttle to the floor from a stop light and the transmission wouldn't shift into overdrive until I let off the throttle. The truck got all the way up to 3700 - 3800 RPM's and then I let off the throttle. The rest of the way home the transmission shifted fine but of course I babied it. I turned the O/D on/off a few times and it went in and out of O/D like it should. I was told that the tranny has been rebuilt and has an H/D T.C. I dunno why it did that. Now I'm scared to get on the throttle with my truck now

1. Do you guys think it was a one time thing because I was traveling up hill with WOT from a dead stop???

2. The Apps Sensor???

3. Transmission (bands, O/D sensor, or flat out the transmission)????

3700 - 3800 RPM at what speed?

I have to back off, esp pulling a load, to get mine to shift into OD. Usually at around 45-50mph, w/ the truck in 3rd, I'll back off and it'll shift into 4th and lockup the I'm good to go. I'm thinking about installing a aftermarket TC in my stock tranny to mitigate the issue.

Could be bad grounds, and there's a lot of them. Could also be governor pressure solenoid or governor pressure sensor. I had to put a solenoid in my 99 when this happened.

I would check the voltage on the Apps. its easy to do and that would eliminate one of the possible issues. I had similar symptoms a 170k ago. made the Apps ajustment and haven't had an issue since.

check the t.v adjustment. people like to tighten it and increase upshift rpm's. 01 has updated gov solenoid and sensor, they fail but not as bad as early 47's.

Check your governor solinoid .I was having 3rd gear shifting problems .I t would rev to the rev limiter . So I dropped my pan and cleaned the solonoids and now it shifts fine.
