47RE: Hesitation from 1st to 2nd

My truck recently developed a hesitation when shifting from 1st to 2nd under very light throttle. The engine will rev slightly (not much, but slightly) higher than it's normal shift point and then it acts like it can't decide whether it wants 1st or 2nd. There is no hesitation from 2nd to 3rd under light throttle, And under moderate or heavy throttle, the symtom goes away and the shifts are good and firm from both 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.

I have owned the truck since 95k miles and since that time, it's had 3 fluid changes and 2 band adjustments. The most recent change and band adjustment was about 3k ago. Is this a symtom of a mis-adjusted band? I usually do pretty good work but it very well could be that I didn't get the torque correct when adjusting the bands last time. I certainly don't have a problem pulling the pan (if needed) to re-adjust but I also don't want the messy job if I don't have to. Also, the fluid coming out for all 3 changes was as red as that going in and it didn't smell burnt or anything like that. I consider the tranny to be in pretty good shape. (The torque convertor...now that's a different story - feels loose)

Anyone else ever have these symtoms and, if so, what was the fix. Thanks in advance for any input.

I'd take a look at the adjustment of the TV cable. Maybe it slipped a little bit.

Sounds like the Gov. Press Sol. is sticking slightly.
