I just got my 98 cc put back together and have been trying to daignose whats wrong with the trans . It trips me out, cause when you hit the brakes its like its took out of gear, when you get up to speed it then acts like its out of gear from time to time, then when you put it in the floor its like it catches and then goes on, when it decides to shift into overdrive it does it very soon and almost lugs itself out. down shifting at wide open throttle is very sluggish. I think its a vaccuum problem, what would you guys say?

 

Double check the fluid level yet?
I know mine takes about a 1/2 quart past full before it acts right.
(The tranny dipsticks are notorious for being innaccurate)

 

it registered as full, but i'll dump a lil more in it

 

heh, looks like they'd have made a dependable dip stick, i poured 2 quarts in and its good as new

 

Check the level after shifting into R and D, place trans in N (Emergency Brake on), engine running on a level surface and warm.
