I am thinking about putting a chip/programmer on the ole Dodge to add a few more pony's and not to sure yet about it.

The Dodge has 252,xxx miles and really wanting some input about do ing this with an engine with this many miles?

a low hp chip maybe i chipped one of my 98.5 when it had 180k on it. went with a 90hp chip didnt have any problems with it and it was a 53 block. traded it off around 275k

 

Mine has almost 238000 on it and I stacked an EZ with a Hypertech max energy and had no problems. I think you will be ok, now go have some fun If your truck has any problems more power might expose them but i dont think it will cause anything to go unless u get crazy, Thats just my .02

 

id just start off with some rv275 injectors...with that many miles the oem's are bound to be a little snoted up, cheaper then an edge ez, but not nearly as easy to install, kinda kill 2 birds with 1 stone tho with the injectors.

 

I've had a chip and propane since 36,001mi. At 330,000 it got an edge juice and 275 injectors. No problems so far at 345,000.

 

My 01 had around 245,000 miles when I bought it. Totally stock. It just turned over 270,000 miles and now has 125 soon to be 200 horse injectors adrenaline and twin turbos. I hold it to 55lbs. of boost or less. Doesn't use any oil and seems as tight as my 97,000 mile motor in the 02.
This truck was driven as a car before I got it. No fifth wheel ball and the receiver had never had a hitch in it.

 

I'm coming up real fast on 300,000 and my truck has been modded since day one, I think it had a 100 miles on it when it got BOMBED.

Go for it, even if it is a little tired, you will notice a difference.
