24V - VE pump swap

Hi everyone,

I have a 24V 2002 and my VP44 is dead. I'm a student on a tight budget and my goal with the truck is to have a super reliable daily with good MPG. I have a few VE pump part lying around so I will be VE pump swapping my truck.

After a lot of research I'm a little confused on what I need to accomplish this swap. For reference, I'm no mechanical wizard but I dabble enough to ave restored a few bikes and manual swapped my own truck.

What I have so far:

Intercooled VE PUMP
89-93 VE fuel lines
VE PUMP gear
VE timing cover
Throttle linkage

I also have a Fass 165gph lift pump but not installed on the truck.

So what I know I'm missing:
Boost line kit
3200 rpm spring
89-93 overflow valve
dv holders

My questions:
1-Where does the overflow valve go?
2-Do i need a fuel regulator for the lift pump?
3-What are the specs for the DV holders?
4-What fuel lines do i use, why do i need the VE ones?
5-What the difference between intercooled and non-intercooled VE pump? Why is the non-intercooled model preferred for this swap?
6-Do i need new injectors? Can i reduce the pressure to 260 bars myself?
7-Do i need to I'm missing or need to know?

Thanks everyone

So far everything I have researched you best bet is to go with a P7100 pump, although it looks like a pretty extensive and costly endeavor. One of the guys that is still on here a lot and is pretty knowageable would be Oliver and he may chime in soon. Good luck with your swap.

Thanks! I'm just on a pretty tight budget and since I already have the VE pump, I want to use that. In addition, I want my truck to start up quickly, have good MPG and be reliable. I'm not looking for power. A VE pump seems like a great fit for my needs.

You can do the swap using the VE pump.
You will need an adapter to get the 24V injection lines to screw into the back of the VE pump.
Then re pop the injectors to the VE pump pressure.
Swap out the timing case for a VE one.
Yes you will need to make sure you are not giving the VE pump to much fuel pressure, shoot for 15 PSI.
