24 valve oil pressure switch problem
24 valve oil pressure switch problem
I have a 1998 ram with the 24 valve motor. My oil pressure takes about 5 seconds to come up on the guage. A check guages alarm sounds. I had the pressure switch replaced under warranty and have the same problem. I checked with Cummins and they say they have a new switch and harness that will fix the problem. Has anyone else had this problem and how do I convince Chry to fix it under warranty. I have 6,000 miles or until April 13th before my warranty runs out.
Any advice?
Thanks
Bowmex
Re:24 valve oil pressure switch problem
I had this problem too. My truck had a 1100 miles on it and my gauge went out, it was fixed and no problems since. My truck now has 66000 miles on it now and there not easy miles.

Bob
Re:24 valve oil pressure switch problem
My 99 has 123,000 miles on it..(i put 118,000 myself) and Ive always had the problem. Theres been a few times where Ive actually shut it down cause of no oil pressure. Specially when its cold, it takes an uncomfortable amount of time to get pressure.

RED
