2007 f150 lariat cab onto 2001 24v 2500 ?
Hey everyone hope everyone is well. Hear me out on this.i have a 2007 f150 lariat loaded truck. Cab is in fantastic shape inside and out. This is the donor cab.
I'm thinking of trying to put it on my 2001 2500 24v.the fab work for just the cab only mounting doesn't seem to bad.only the shifter seems it will require some
the reason being of the swap is due to the cab rust and dash falling in etc. The frame and drive Trainor the dodge is great and completely refurbished. The cab is just done and alot more work than i wanting to do and i already own the ford and I have a buyer for the rolling f150 chassis.
my biggest concerns and any thoughts and experiences are welcome.
the wiring. Lol..
will the bcm of ford work without the ecm /main computer
My thought is the ram ecm/pcm would obviously stay.
In order to get guages to work / engine temp/oil press/rpm/speedo/batt would it be to easy to think just splicing in the sensors from the 24v into the harnesses of the f150 would actually work. And just splicing in power and ground into the bcm of f150 would allow everything to work and start?. I know pcm/ecm/bcm modules sometimes have Vin locks and won't allow start up.
I dont have much ford knowledge of their wiring.
do they even work on the same basic wiring like dodge with using- to activate certain tthings.any thoughts or input is seriously welcomed. Thanks in advance everyone .iv been a member here for many Years and looking fwd. For some good guidance.

All apologies if the moderator would be so kind to move my post to Cummins conversions I would appreciate it. I can't seem to figure out how to move it on my own . I mistakenly put it here.
Thanks

Getting a 24V and an electronically shifted auto to work with a different cab on it seems like a lot of wiring to sort out. Too much for me to want to tackle.
If you re-use ALL of the Dodge wiring, ECM and PCM, gauges, steering wheel, dash controls ETC, and got them to fit in the Ford...maybe it would go okay.
I think finding the correct era Dodge Cab would save you 100s of hours of wiring things to get them to work right.

I appreciate your insight.i am guessing I am a bit nieve when im thinking of how all the wiring would go in my head.. but me thinking just one subject the accelerator. With the 150 cab set on frame.hookimg up the cable to the tb on the 24v which is where the tps is located. Everything as far as 24v wiring stays put. Then connecting sensors and dash guages together from 24v harness to the dash harness of 150 for corresponding guages theoretically it should work ? But I'm no ford guru and don't really understand how their system works as much as I do 24v. But by no means am I an expert.. 😆. Just like to play.
I have considered your idea and have begun searching a little away from where i am for another body.i do know I would prefer a newer crew cab body instead of the 1/2 door my quad cab has. Maybe wiring to an already dodge cab would be easier.? Maybe there is even a wiring harness conversion kit out there from a company who already does these conversions🤔.
thanks again for your input
