ok here is the gist of what we got going on. dads truck has 510,000 on it now and is starting to smoke and last week it wiped out the VP44 (first and only failure on this truck so far other than a pilot bearing taking out the clutch).
we sourced a 2000 model truck with 186,000 on it with no trans and are just going to swap the whole motor over . according to dodge this is a plug and play setup between the two. asfar as using the comp on the 2000 in the 2001 truck will the newer truck tell the older motor computer to use cruse the same as befor ? as in the 2000 truck had a outside vacume operated cruse and the 2001 did it all in the VP44
