I am needing to get my trans fluid changed on my truck. The owner's manual says to only use some kind of mopar something +4. I called the dealer for a price on a transmission flush $250 the local jiffy lube is $99????
I pull a trailer almost every weekend weights between 3000 to 16000
So I want it to last

How many miles on it? I've heard on here and my tranny guy that a flush is a bad thing on a high mileage truck because it will loosen up the crud and then plug important stuff up eventually creating a trans failure. It's pretty easy to do, and Orielly's sells Valvoline ATF +4 for $5 a quart. You could do the whole thing for under $50 (filter included). I took mine to my tranny shop and he only charged $75 and I knew it was done right and didn't have any worries about what bozo had been wrenching on my truck. If you decide to do it yourself, just get the oil and filter and it's pretty self explanatory...oh yeah, be prepared to make a mess.
