I just bought a 02 24 valve with an auto trans. problem is that when I am going at 55 mph / 1500 rpm, I could feel the trans shift into a neutral state and there is no power whatsoever until I let the rpm drop to idle then it takes off again or it will slowly downshift. I checked the codes on the odometer and it read p0500 and p1693. I need help!!

 

P0500 = no vehicle speed sensor signal. Can cause all of above even if speedo does work.
Be sure an check lift pump pressue. Check wiring harness on left frame rail to cneter of axle. Had plenty issues with wiring being fubarred.

I replaced the speed sensor and when I was disconnecting the sensor wire, I found another wire hanging next to the sensor connection... I tried to find out where this wire should have been connected to, but did not find anything. I thought that this might be a test point or something.
