01 VP44 Issues
01 VP44 Issues
I am new to this forum and have read a lot of the threads here about the VP44, the other day I drove my 01 Dodge Ram 3500 24valve dually to work with no issues, came out from work and it just cranked over and over with no start, the battery cables are clean and I am getting fuel through the LP to the VP44. Yesterday I hooked up my scanner and recieved the "Grime Reaper" of codes P1688
, and by the way it was the only code shown. My question is, should I go and just buy a new IP or should there be steps that I should take to rule out a possible error with the code? (I know I'm reaching) I notice from reading some of the threads that sometimes it can be something else that seems to trigger the code, could it be the electronics in the pump and I can simply replace that or am I just prolonging the inevitable.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated
Thanks

There's absolutely nothing wrong with running diagnostics, but most likely it's time for a new IP. If you've never done one before, there is an excellent write up on here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it......
