Edge Comp??
If so, turn down to a lower setting and see if it still slips. If not...your just overpowering the stock tranny/converter. Will only get worse so plan ahead $-wise.

The surging at cruise also tells me you probably have the Edge Comp set on higher setting? The extra fueling will cause the cruise control to over compensate in both directions. Low setting also the answer here, if that's what's happening?

Good luck....and welcome to a great site.

You can try putting a 1" piece of WD40 Red Straw in the vacuum line to the cruise control. This can be done at the T on the firewall. This restricks the action of the cruise a bit. SNOKING

If the tranny is slipping then it's only going to get worse. When my tranny was slipping the fluid looked and smelled fine but driving it all it wanted to do was slip. Sorry for the bad news. Turn the comp off or take it completely out of the truck and start saving up for a new tranny cause once they start slipping it doesn't take long before they are completely dead.
