'01-'02 Injector Pump Failures?

I have been noticing a greater number than usual being posted around here and other forums and two performance shops seeing an increase. All seem to have 35-50k on them for milage. Most even seem to be stock. My '02 just went out at 43k, all stock. I spoke to the tech that is changing my IP and he said he noticed that the pumps being replaced have some silicone sealant around the solenoid. Has anyone seen this also? Could you guys that have had a stock '01-'02 IP fail please post mileage? It seems like we are all seeing the same milage at about the two year mark.

You didn't have a choice I could pick.

Mine went out at 4,000 miles.

No codes, no lift pump problems (was and still is putting out 15 at idle, 10 or so at WOT).
No fueling or timing modifications.

Don't think you can get more stock than I was way back when.

Edit: I used my powers to edit the poll and add a couple more choices.

My IP is the original one. I had a LP replaced at 32K miles, and now I'm at 73K. Both are still strong.

Hello
I am still running the same injection pump 76k on truck now. I replaced the lift pump a couple of years ago and it is starting to act up again, the fix is sitting in the barn a FASS.
Good luck
See Ya
Chris

Not yet, but the truck only has 12k on it so far.... However I will be replacing the lift pump with a Fass shortly.

Not sure of the year involved but the lowest mileage VP I've replaced was a shade over 20,000 miles. The longest one I've seen was 225,000 before replacement. Mine has 52k on it.

What i would like to know is how many failures had some sort of water damage. I have 67K on mine and its still running good. My brothers went at 75k and we opened it up and he had water damage... I wonder what percentage of failures is caused by bad fuel... just a thought

BigBlackDodge got 281500 out of his first one and 149000 out of his second one. He's been bomed since the beginning. I think it's just luck of the draw. I've got 66K on my original right now and I've run it with the wire pierced on a Comp before with zero pressure. Still running good. Knock on wood.

Lost one at 105,000 miles. Bombed since 45,000. Drag raced for points last year at Bandimere. Fuel pressure was near 0 at the track.

60k on the IP
Lp went out at 58k. I still think my fp is a tad low at wot (5-6 psi) w/ the new lp. Oh well, when she blows, she blows.
