**** tranny!!!
**** tranny!!!
Well I just serviced the tranny in my 99, and now I have a shutter at times from 1st to 2nd. Also, the tranny is searching qute a bit. It hops between all the gears. Could it be that I did not out enough flujid in the tranny? I have all the parts for a rebuild except the torque converter. Is it time for a new tranny?
Now on another note, I think the VP is dying too.. I get the 216 code all the time, and I get the dead pedal quite often. The weird thing is that if I reset the APPS, I can drivee it just fine for a while. As soon as the weather heats up, The code will come back up, and I get the dead pedal. Can the heat in the weather cause this to happen? Is my VP done for? If so, who can recommend a good shop to rebuild my pump. I can't afford much right now because I am a teacher getting married in Oct. C

Your VP is on borrowed time if you keep getting dead pedal. Do a search on here for the cheapest place to buy them. As for the tranny, what kind of service did you do to it? Try checking the fluid and see if perhaps it's to low or something. If you adjusted the bands you may have one to loose or to tight.

As for the VP, I know I can get a exchange for about 1100, but I am wondering if I can get it rebuilt for less.
Does anyone know of any chops in Ca that can rebuild them? Any recommendations?
Thanks
Dima
The only shops that I know of that can rebuild them are bosch shops. You buy rebuilt ones for probably the same price as having yours rebuilt. You need more tranny fluid. When I changed mine I ended up putting 11qts back in.
