Your tips for installing a 16cm2 housing
Good day to all:
I will drop some penetrating oil on the mounting bolts to facilitate removal of the original 21cm2; Are there any tips or warnings anyone can share as to putting the 16cm2 housing as a replacement?

Don't hit the housing hard. I dented the flange a little the WH1C that I took apart. Use a brass drift maybe. I had to work it CW and CCW a little before I got the housing to start coming off. I'm sure there are better tips from other since I have only did the one so far.
I knew I should have wrote that stuff down right after I did the swap. I have forgotton a bunch now. I do still have a few though.
Soak everything down.
Remove the turbo completely to do the job.
Do not remove the 4 bolts that hold itt together at first. Only loosen them enough so that the washers will turn. That way, when you are seperating the 2 pieces, there will be less chance of inpeller damage. As the pieces seperate, loosen the bolts a hair more.
Before trying to seperate the 2 pieces, hit the housing so that it spins clockwise/counterclockwise, to do the initial break loose.
Work slowly and use several easy blows with the hammer as opposed to one big hit.
If I can think of some more, I will post up tonight. I will try to upload some of the pics I took when I did the job, also.

the best thing i used was a 2lb mini sledge, hit the housing on one side then the other with it, until it begins to move, then get a smaller hammer and use little taps, but thru the whole process remember every couple hits, spin the impeller to make sure your not binding

Use PB Blaster and lots of it. I did my housing swap at around 157,000 so it was on there pretty good. For almost a week prior, I sprayed the bolts and crevice of the housing where it connects to the compressor body; I had to do it on my day off so I sprayed it in advance. I did this right after shut down when things were nice and warm and still "expanded". Take your time when banging on the housing. It WILL come loose. Like everyone else said, you need to bang it at different points while checking to see that the blade still spins freely. Not a bad job at all. Good luck.
