You gotta read this....

So, I'm gettin' my tranny rebuilt...and my tranny guy calls me this morning, he pulled everything out and pulled the valve body out....turns out it was a valve body out of a 96 Dodge...which is an electronic valve body....I wish I could see the guy I bought the truck from, and give him a piece of my mind....he mysteriously quit answering and returning phone calls the day after I bought the truck...I wonder why...c'est la vie, that's life...anyways, got the right stuff goin' back in, so I guess that's what matters....I'll let you know how she turns out. I just thought it was funny, cause all you can do is laugh about crap like this.....

Yeah taking sellers "word" is sometimes a crap shoot at best. And what one guy considers "new" or "rebuilt" and what you or me consider might be complete opposites.

Buddy had a 727 in his challenger rebuilt by a licensed Chrysler tranny guy, on the side, but the tranny never worked right. He finally took it to a reputable shop and they said the pieces used should never have worked together, and they were surprised it even drove down the road. So your not the first, and sure you won't be the last.

Just have to laugh, it's like the trailer I borrowed that had an inner wheel bearing in backwards .

Are you going to have the line pressure turned up?

Like my truck just had a "brake job" when I got it.... It had new front pads on scored, gouged, warped rotors, air in the lines, and a toasted master/booster... back brakes were never touched Nice brake job bub...

It drove okay, it had a bad lift pump, so it already felt real laggy....the second time I drove it he fixed it, so it drove a lot better, but it at least shifted through the gears better...but to know it had that 96 valve body, that would have been a tough one to discover...

simular thing here but with the power stearing gearbox. He said he baught a new one but lied. He took the old one apart and put it back together without new parts and cleaned it up inside but it turned out so loose I got the deathwobble half way home and he too droped off the face of the earth. This was a Craigs list add also. I bought other things from Craigs list and simular results, JUNK dealers. I would REALLY forget Craigs list.

in my humble opinion if one cannot build a torgue-flite when professing to be a chry tech. one is in the wrong business. re-built my first one in 1964. have some pics of unbelievable feats that they pulled and were basically stock. if i ever get a scanner will post a few.
