Would doing this decrese life?

I am looking to install stacks on my truck, and I would like some smoke to fill em up with. But I have a question regarding the life of the motor in the future.
I know where the smoke screw is, and I dont want to do any real major tweeking to it. But if I turn the full power screw on the backside of the pump, will this take life off of the motor in the future? I know not to let the EGTs get too hot(which decreses life), but if I take care of the motor can I possibly see 200,000 more mile out of the motor before I start to have major problems? (it has 174,000 miles on it now)
Also, with the amount of miles on my truck, is it not advisable to turn the pump up some?
Thanks for any input,
Wheelo

Mine had about 360k on it when I got it. It was turned up a fair amount and even had a F@#m oil filter It runs stronger today at 406k than it did the day I got it. If it's gonna break, it's gonna break. These engines were built with 100% duty cycle in mind....think 2500 rpm, 21psi ALL day, EVERY day. Quite simply, even mildly BOMBed, these engine are still just loafing along in these pickups. Crank the pump a bit, watch your gauges and have fun you only live once

Mine had 250k when I got it, completely stock including a large hole in one of the intercooler boots. And it definately runs stronger now than it did when I got it. Except for the whole thrust main bearing thing.

I don't think that the pump tweaks alone really reduce engine life.

Your tranny life is expected to take a nose-dive, though. (From what I've heard...)

the other think is that it is harder on the pump so now you need to get better injectors

turning up your pump isn't going to make much difference on the life of your eng. The things that make the biggest differences are oil changes, the quality of oil, keeping it full of oil, and how hard you run it on a regular basis. But even running it hard regularly isn't too bad on these as long as you maintain it accordingly.

PS; Have fun making smoke
