WOOHOO! Pump Reseal!!!

First of all I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has posted information about the inside of our VE pump, especially Jim Lane for his leaky fuel pin sticky and to 1stGen545 for his descriptive pictures about the pump reseal. Also, I would like to thank whoever found the Chrysler r&r videos on the pump as well. My distributive head has been leaking for awhile and I have been having a problem with my oil thinning out from fuel so I have suspected the front seal to be leaking. Pulled the pump yesterday disassembled and cleaned everything, reassembled this afternoon and she runs great!!! Some of the delivery valves were varnished stuck and the inside of the pump looked horrible but no damage to be seen. Picked up 2 lbs of boost I cant believe it!! Next its the piston pump install.

Again thanks to all of you guys, I feel it necessary to tell you about my experiences with my truck because without input from a lot of you, I wouldnt know where to start!!!

My pump head and fuel pin are leaking too. I've been putting it off for awhile, but soon I will dig into it as you did. I'm sure once I get the electric fuel pump and the whole fuel system finnished it'll be gushing out of the pump everywhere. LOL

Congrats, its good to hear stories like this. Keeps up our optimism that these old VE trucks can run good and even better than some new stuff!

Good job! It's nice to hear a success story. I'm going to have to pull mine and do a re-seal later this year.

What seal kit did you use, and where did you get it from?

the bosch reseal kit has everything you need minus hard internal parts if any are needed. any fuel injection shop should be able to get you one for around $16. P/N: DGK-121

Thanks. Does the Bosch kit have the Viton rubber? I've heard they stand up better to ULSD.

EDIT: I meant they stand up better to biodiesel blends.
