Why couldn't this have waited until Saturday?!

I plan on installing my Giles 12mm VE on Sunday yet the AFC guide pin seal in my original/existing pump decided that it wanted to start leaking... again. And the leak is far worse than it was when I replaced it almost 3 years ago! I attached a length of hose and a cup to the vent tube for now and after only 20 minutes worth of driving, I'm catching about 2-3oz. of fuel . I can feel a difference in how the motor performs since it now takes more boost/manifold pressure to overcome hydraulic pressure.

I suppose if I have to drive anywhere this week (other than work Thursday through Saturday), I'll just have to empty the cup every time I reach my destination. This certainly has put me in a poor mood.

Man bad timming... But good temp fix until you have time to actually get to the IP replacement. Better to catch and re-use that fuel, then let it fall on the ground and wasting your money.

I had this happen once and all I did was whittle down a piece of wood and stick it in the hole. The diesel caused it to swell up and seal up the pump until I got home a couple of days later and fixed the problem.

This is just a suggestion so you don’t have to keep dumping the diesel back into you tank.

Of course you would lose any additional fueling from the fuel pin/AFC.
