Where does the extra spring go?

Okay, for those of you that followed the "Diving In - porting the head" my truck's back on the road and doing well. A nagging question is that I have a "spare part" - an extra spring that's similar in length to the throttle return springs that go from the VE Injection pump to the timing cover. I did remove the throttle/trans linkage assembly and suspect it came form there, but I didn't find it in anny of the illustrations in the FSM or parts manual. Any ideas?

I think there is a spring going from the TV cable to the throttle to pull the cable back when you let off. Mine was lost a long time ago or I'd know for sure.

My FSM only goes to page 14-26...and section 14 is titled Engine Testing. What FSM do you have? Mine is actually a Troubleshooting and Repair Manual B3.9, B4.5, and B5.9 Series Engines...is there another must have manual in my near future?

Anyway, a pic or image would be much appreciated!

Ah, you have the Cummins manual. This is in the Dodge FSM. The spring goes from the throttle return spring hole on the throttle lever to the TV cable.

Pssst... I saw a '92 FSM on Ebay this week. '92 and '93 are the same book except '93 has the Getrag rebuild section - which you don't need.
