What's the common point here??

OK, so I drove into work today, no issues at all.

Came out about an hour and a half ago and turned the key, wait to start, and other warning lights came on as usual, grid heaters cycled and while I was waiting for them to finish, with the key in the "run" position, I lowered the drivers side window about half way... Wait to start turned off, I started the truck, and BOOM! Windows wont roll up, or down. Now, while depressing the window switches, the Parking Brake, Wait to Start and Water in Fuel warning lights all light up!! let go of the switch and they go off!!
Turn on the heater, all the lights come back on..everything is working just fine ( except the windows), the door locks, radio, blower fan, all work..
I'm stymied! cant figure out where the common connection is between the power windows, heater and warning lights!

Any suggestions?

Sounds like a crazy ground problem. I had weird stuff like that happening to me, too. There are a couple of grounds that attach to the rad support near the battery. Take those off, strip the wire, and ground it directly to the battery. There may also be a bad ground somewhere behind the cluster.

The dash ground is good, checked that in the parking lot before I drove off, and checked the fuse block for any apparent short there... ( keep a test light in the truck from experience)

Sounds a bit like you possibly lost a set of contacts in the ignition switch or you somehow blew a fusible link.

Back in 1970 a friend had a new Roadrunner. If you pressed the brake pedal, put on the 4 way flasher, and turned left turn signal on, & turned the windshield wipers on - the wipers would run while the four ways flashed by back feeding the ignition circuit.

Orange fuseable link...

It's your hi draw blower motor circuit.

The orange fuseable connects to two circuits. Isolate each one w/ a 25 amp in line act type fuse. That's what I did.

Tim and Marf, you two were dead on ! Its the orange fusible link that attaches to the Red with Black stripe and brown..
I cut the link out and jumped direct to the wires and it solved the issue, now gonna install inline-fuses to replace the link and she should be good to go..

Thanks for the help!

Glad to help. Just returning favors
I believe that red/black goes to the ignition switch and mine was burned right at that plug also, for what it could be worth.

Separate them w/ 2 different fuses. In other words, the fuse able supplied the 2. Now, split them up so there is a fuse for each.
