The clutch prices are about the same as everyone else. It says NEW NV4500, I did not think that there were any new NV's still being made but I've been wrong more times than I've been right. If it is a new trans I'd want to know if the fifth gear falling off problem has been addressed because that costs a little to fix. I think you should be able to buy a donor truck for less but then you are getting used stuff not new. Unless I missed it you will still need to buy the starter and find some pedals and I believe you will have to do a little fab work on the firewall to mount 2nd gen clutch master. It's a lot of cash but probably as good of a deal you will get for all new stuff and saves time chasing it down one part at a time and your time has value. I'd personally look for a 2nd gen donor but I'm cheap...........well in this economy I can say thrifty.
You have a point about the donor truck what years what I need too look for. And it a new vs used how hard would it be if I converted my truck to use the trans transfer and the axles out of it?
Thanks shane
Thanks shane
I know for sure any of the 12 valve 2nd gen will work,94to early 98. aafront axle would be a big job but someone on here has grafted the front of a 2nd gen frame to a first gen frame. Transfer case on 2nd drops to the drivers side 1st gen is passenger side so it will not work, rear end is in a 5 speed truck is a dana 80 which is better than athe stock dana 70 and not to bad to swap in. You will still need a 29 spline 1st gen 205 transfer case or the parts to convert your automatic transfer case to work with the 5 speed. Do a search on this forum and you can see how involved that is, I've never done it.
