What year 2nd Gen would you own (if you had to)?
I replaced my 93 with a 97.. Having the Hydroboost brakes and the last year of that particular model is what I was after. The 98's are nice and you can find a 12V club cab if you don't like the quad doors, I have seen a few.
You can't go wrong with mechanical injection and no worries about lift pumps. Power is cheaper too as long as you like to tinker, definitely not as easy as plug-n-play on the 24V.

My vote would be for a 98 12v with the NV4500...........you get a 215 pump 12v (perfect platform for making big power!) w/ the updated 5th gear nut, quad cab, heated mirror option, updated interior, hybrid D70/80 rear.............like it was mentioned earlier, the most refined truck but with the strongest 12v engine and the best P7100 pump for big power! - the way to go, IMO........
