What would be your choice

Ok so i took off my cold air intake to clean the filter and thought i would give the turbine wheel a quick check and to my surprise its unbelievably loose. So i figure since i just put ddp4 injector's in awhile ago i would just up grade my turbo. So since i already have a hx35,12 cm turbo now i would buy either a hx40 or an s300.I dont know which would be better for me so i thought i would ask for your guy's advice.

From what I've seen:
- The HX40 will be the lesser expensive with fewer options/variants.
- The S300 can potentially be much more expensive but a bunch of different configurations are available.

What do you do with the truck?
How deep are your pockets?

I think the 62/65/14 PDR sells would be a good choice

If you use your truck to tow, or just run around town, the HX40 would be the better choice, in my opinion, simply because it spools faster than a 62/71/14 S300. If performance is your goal however, the S300 would be the better choice.

My next turbo will be a 60/68/14 S300, as they spool fairly quick, and can support a good bit of horsepower.

Never seen those specs on a 300 before. COOL. If I ever buy another 300 it will be the 62mm model with the 65 exhaust. My 57 300 will be sweet when a big boy gets put with it.

I hadn't either until a few months ago when my brother showed me. If I recall correctly, the website they were listed on was "Engineered Diesel" or something like that, and they were only listed around $800. Of course once they get popular, they'll skyrocket in price.

I only tow a few times a year and it's my 66 satellite in a enclosed trailer, mostly just dailt driven and played hard in.I see pdr lists just a s300 and a 62/14 s300 whats the difference.I just want to make sure i get the right turbo for my needs and future.

The "s300" (the cheaper one) is the baby S300. its 57/65 (compressor and turbine mm)

the S300 62/14 is the "62/65/14"

Seems I remember most of the guys running the 62/71/? say they can be a little laggy for a DD/Hauler, but that the 62/65/? spools much quicker and is fairly decent at towing. I'm planning to run a 62/65/12or14 when I upgrade. I think you'd wish you'd gone with the 62 over the 40. I wish I had.
