What would you do?
I got an extra $500 now thanks to income tax and was wondering what I should buy for my truck. Was thinking about some injectors, but then was thinking I should fix a lot of gasket leaks and cosmetic work that have needed to be done. If it was you with the truck in my sig. what would you do? More power? or Maintenance? Tires? just trying to get some good opinions. THANKS!

The lesson i have learned is to fix things that are broke first.
I always run into the issue of having extra money so I do performance things. Then I swear the next day some thing thats been on its way out for a while breaks and i have no money to fix it.
Id say its better to have the truck longer than have a bunch of power for a while

$500 goes fast.
Brakes, u-joints and fluids/filters and you're broke again.
Then you have to buy fuel too........

I agree with the others....Repairs and Maintenance first. Looks like you already have a bit of power on tap, so give a little love to the ol beast and fix the things that need fixin'.
I wish I was in the situation to think of buying power adders...but I'm still working on my "Fix" list....

You know murphy's law... you will fix one thing and spend all your money and something else will break. At least thats how it goes for me. I'd keep it around a buy a few smaller things you need and need to get fixed, and use some for fuel. Just remember your truck can have all the power in the world but it won't get you anywhere without tires or fuel.

I say stash the money. It seems like i come up with money and blow it on something performance related then a week later i need something maintenance wise or i find something (like a rust free box) that i really could use.
I finally stuck with my setup and didnt buy more performance stuff this month. I got a new set of hubs, a new diff cover to replace the stock one thats on its last leg and ill also be putting in some new fluids in the drivetrain.

I'm with the others that have posted BUT......
If the moneys burning a hole in your pocket I have 2 words for you-Borgeson Shaft.
It won't eat up the whole $500 so you could buy beer to drink while doing the install.
Best money I think I've spent on any of my 1st Gen's.

I'm really tossing the maintenance idea around.......havent done any but fluids since i got the truck basically. And no bubba I decided to keep the dually, she has handled more stuff I've hooked to than any SRW I've had, and the looks are starting to grow on me....gonna get an IC SRW next income tax.
