What will a HX-35 give me

I have a friend that is going to put a HX-40 on his 99'. So I am going to buy his buy HX-35. By the time I get ready to do this, I will also have my POD's. What can I expect out of the HX-35 on my truck over the factory H1C w/21cm2 housing?

15-20lbs more manifold pressure, much better low end, and Map Width Enhancement (so you shouldn't have any surge problems) . . .

I'm a little jealous.

Re:What will a HX-35 give me

Whats the big difference between the stock turbo on the 1st gens and the HX-35? I have a 94 but it is a hx-40. however I have another friend that has a 94 with the hc1 or what ever it is : I knew they put them on the 94's but Mine did not have one and he wants to know which one is better or will hold more boost.
Thanks

Re:What will a HX-35 give me

Interesting question -- I posted a comment from someone who sells turbos, saying that there is no difference in performance between the H1 and the Hx35, if they are set up with the same wheels. The later trucks have a bigger compressor wheel (inducer) and Map Width Enhancement slots (the slots under the silencer ring). The larger compressor means that they flow more air and make more pressure at higher engine rpms, though the exducer (exhaust turbine) is unchanged. The MWE keeps them from surging at lower speeds.

As a side note, it seems that the earlier (91-93) one ton trucks actually have a larger inducer than the 3/4 ton trucks, but no MWE. . .

Make sure you yank the silencer ring before you slap that HX-35 on your truck. I've heard a couple trucks without it, and I want an HX-35 if for no other reason than the sound!
