Saw them on e=bay, must be marine or industrial of some kind. I missed out on getting the 185s, had too many other things going on. Now they are over $800, way too much for me.

I tried contacting the guy numerous times back when I was looking for a set of injectors. Bosch only makes the stock and 185 injectors for the 1st gens (as far as I am aware of). I inquired as to whether they were the 185 injectors and he never replied. Not once out of at least three e-mails. I took my business elsewhere ... and got them for cheaper. You might contact Rod at Widcat Diesel and see what he can come up with for prices. He got me the best deal I had found.

Talked to Rod, he said with the price increase the 185s would run aroung $800 Ouch :'(

OUCH!!! You don't wanna know what I paid just a few months ago. ;D Before I paid that kind of money for 185s, I would definitely get in touch with Lenny at DDP and get a set of DDIII's for about that.

If you can confirm that they are Bosch 185's that would now be a good price. Bosch 185's have gone up 105%. See if you can get a 4 digit number from him - it would be visible once they are installed in the engine. If memory serves me right that number is 9344.

Carl if you can check out your injectors and confirm that number I would appreciate it. BTW see you in the AM.

OK I found a guy that says he can get me a set of 185s for $450 so I ordered them. (not e-bay) Is that number 9344 a way to make sure I get what I wanted and do the 185s have 5 holes. I was going to get them in Sept but put it off because I didn't have time to put them in right away....bad decision. And no I haven't heard back from the e-bay guy yet. I could have gotten pods for about $380 but wanted a cleaner setup.

That # is 9744. We compared about 4-5 sets of 185's and they all had the same # on them. Not sure whatit stands for but it is differend than what was on my stock injectors. The 185s to have 5 holes.

BTW, I got mine for $275 jsut about 3-4 months ago. These new prices bite!!

I was a digit - off the number is 9744. It is located on the top portion of the injector - on the opposite side from the return line. Every Bosch 185 I have seen has this number and others that have them confirm this. There are other numbers further down on the body that will give you the pop-off pressure, country of mfg and serial number. Pop-off psi should be 245 bar.
