What a pain in the butt.....
Just pulled my injection pump top off to put in a 366 3200 RPM governor spring.
Getting the allen screws under the AFC loose is a pain in the butt, but I finally got them (using a punch and a hammer to loosen them).
The old spring looks like it has 386 stenciled on it. Is that correct for the stock spring?
I also turned the star wheel 1/4 turn clockwise, turned the fuel pin another 30 degrees (max setting), and removed the collar from the full power screw and added 1 turn, give or take. Can't wait for morning light when I can button it all back up and give it a test drive. I'm going to try 1/8" more timing, too.

Yes, 386 is stock spring, 2600? rpm. Yes allen screws are a pain, just did one of mine. I think the ball end metric allen keys would help. I did all of that too except timing bump yet, what a difference. I'm lovin it!

A ball end allen key is a good way to round out the hole. BTDT. It really helps to retard the timing all the way, you get much better access to the bolts. Also trimming your allen key for a lower height makes it easier. And you can hook a box wrench on the end of the allen key for more leverage.
