So sorry to hear that Jim. I know you work so hard to keep your truck in pristine condition so it really hurts to have someone screw it up.

It sounds like Santa has his work cut out for him this year. Keep us posted as repairs are made.

Dang man, I got my bumper hooked on a trailer hitch yesterday and bent the hades out of it as I backed up. I thought I had it bad.

Man that really sucks. I know how I would feel if it happened to me. On the bright side its going to get fixed. It really really sucks when they take off or are not insured. Did the mirror folding damage any paint or metal? If all you need is a mirror and a new fender you should be able to bring it to like new condition. Its the price we pay for actually driving our trucks, no matter how careful we are, others are not so careful.

Thanks guys,
Having a valid drivers license, insurance and not driving under the influence are rare here in this part of Southern California.

I am going to take in tomorrow morning to Detroit Auto Body and start the insurance claim and have them see what it needs, I know it will need at least a new fender and a drivers side mirror.

But I am going to have them check the frame and make sure it is straight, also I need them to check the suspension since he bounced off the tire.

I want to make sure the axle or rim did not get bent or the spring didn't move since he hit it pretty hard.

When the mirror got hit it flipped it around and might have hit my spot light, I found shards of the mirror embedded in the rubber windshield gasket on the passenger side.

I know they are going to have a problem finding the fender so I am hoping I can drive the truck while they are looking for one.

Do you know if the mirror is still available from the dealer?

I don't have to worry about the repairs, the guys in this shop take pride in their work and quality is outstanding.

They have a picture of my truck in the office and use it to brag about to the new customers, they say "we did the work on this truck"

This shop gives a lifetime warranty on the paint and the workmanship unlike Earl Scheib.

Bud,
But why, why?

Some of us know that first hand oh so well.

I hope Morgan is feeling better and getting stronger as each day passes.

What about the park pawl? Did he hit it with the body of his truck and roll yours some while in park? Just another thought.

Man that hurts...but maybe you leaving the lights on gave him enough warning to miss your sheet metal.

Glad everyone's OK..with the exception of your truck...but it's a material possession and can be fixed. Hope all goes well with your claim.

Maybe he was star struck by all of my lights and got distracted.
I was thinking of a circuit that when an oncoming car approaches my brake lights would strobe until it passes then reset itself.

I will always leave my parking lights on whenever I am working or even when I go into a store just so the truck can be seen, it also seems to attract the lookies but it is also kinda like bragging to show it off.

Sometimes I will hear over the stores PA system "there is a grey dodge truck in the parking lot with the lights on" Guess I need a sign that says "My Lights Are On For Safety"
