what the heck is going on!!??

So I just recently fell face first down the slippery slope and have been doing some mods. I just got an extra long fuel/power screw from pure diesel power(not sure if ill need the full length of it but i figured what the heck fresh threads and reasonably priced) and i tried putting in in tonight. I got it all in put it at the same length as my stock screw to start off with, put the o ring on it and everthing and the truck wont start. I tried pushing the lever on the lift pump to push some fuel in there and everthing and it still wont start. as if its not getting fuel or something like that.

Has anyone had this problem?

Did u change or remove anything besides the fuel screw? I'm assuming you marked your old one prior to removal Did you measure how deep or was in the pump then mark the new to install the same depth?

I would turn it in some more bit by bit. Make sure the manual kill lever isn't pulled and you didn't accidentally knock the fss wire off

Make sure you did not bump the power wire to the fuel shutoff solinoid. That will also let it crank with no fuel. Have done it when I adjusted fuel screw and forgot to put it back on.

Ive really done it now

so now I have a totally different problem, the screw broke off in the pump!! Am I gonna have to pull the pump off the truck now? or will i be able to get it out by just taking the top off?

you think this has to be some sort of default or are they all poorly made like this? Do you guys think I could get a new screw from them? Its not like I was cranking down on the thing all I was doing when it happened was loosening the lock nut.

Pull the top off. Shouldn't have to pull the whole pump

Put your foot on the throttle. The position of the full power screw changes your idle speed. It might be that you didn't put it in as far as it was before, and it isn't getting enough fuel to idle.

ill have to try that schamran.

but as far as taking tho broken screw out I think Im gonna have to pull the pump off. I tried to take the top off but it looks like somebody has in the past and just mangled the allen bolt in the back closest to the engine and I just cant get it off to save my life so I think im gonna have to pull the pump.

a good ball point Allen wrench works well for that back bolt, might not help if its all beat up though.

I agree on giving it some fuel to get it started, it doesn't take much on the fuel screw to keep it from starting.
