What flex plate to get?

I just ordered a Goerend converter today to replace the totaly worn out stock one on my truck . I am not sure if I should just get the second gen flexplate which I can get pretty cheap, or should I get one that is beefed up a little more with an insert welded (laminated?) into the second gen flexplate? I plow with the truck, but otherwise I dont really use it for anything heavy duty. I ocassionally tow a car trailer, but not the weight that a lot of you guys do. The truck is pretty much stock now, but I plan on doing some pump mods in the future along with some other bits. Eventually 300-350HP. What do you think?

The stock second gen flex plate should be just fine.

x2. You'll have no problems with a 2nd gen one at that power level.

for the extra few dollars of getting the insert if your worried about it at all why not do it now while your there. could save time money and hassle later

are you talking about the after market insert that you weld onto the flex plate around the center ring

The upgraded flexplate is more than just a few dollars over the stock plate unfortunately. I think I might just get the stock plate instead. After thinking about it more maybe the upgraded plate is a bit of overkill for what I plan on doing. Man I cant wait for that new converter!
