Something I've never really payed much notice to is the black button on the door frame connected to the seat belt. Anyone know why?

When the door is open the seatbelt can be stretched out and will lock in that position. When the door closes the seatbelt will then tighten up.

What good is that? Can't figure why that would be used unless you're 400 pounds and can't click it yourself.

Got headlner in yesterday and what's left is the seat and belts and the rear corner trim ,doorpanels and weathertrip. However we have rain coming which I expect to be 40 days and 40 nights so I'll get the canoe out so I can make it to my shop.Life in the NW.
