What is the body parts interchangability?

My first gen needs a few body panels replaced before I paint it. I need front fenders and a better bed. Maybe doors if I find some nice ones cheap enough.

What year range of these trucks will interchange with my 93?

Also, I'd assume 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton parts will interchange?

Anyone ever rebuilt door hinges? Are the parts still available through dealer parts department?

Thumbs up

Kentucky crash auto parts, can get u any thing u need at a very good price. I have gotten fender's for $40.00 each, U can still get the door hinges as one hole unit from any Dodge parts dealer OEM. I do belive used body parts range for 81 to 93 that are macthes. Good luck with the parts

the door hinge rebuilt i got from one of the local auto parts stores wasn't worth a thing. it was worse than the original setup. body panels and doors are the same i believe all the way through the 80's if you look at your truck there is an upper body line on the fender and doors (it fades out across the drivers door) that are not on the 70's and possibly early 80's i'm not sure when the switch was made. the 1/2,3/4, and 1 ton do all interchange. someone just posted a bunch of places to buy new sheet metal, i've always had great luck at salvage yards.

here are some sources for new sheet metal. The body lines changed from 87-88, the model years 89-93 are interchangeable. The door skins are the most expensive part you mentioned, new they are around $225. Body panels are interchangeable across teh 150/250/350 lines. They are NOT all interchangeable between gasser/diesel.....
