Well that worked out sweet!

I finally got around to checking the rear brakes on my truck. It all came apart easier than I thought. The axle popped right out easier than expected. I had to go buy the 2-9/16 socket for the wheel bearing nut. I was expecting the worse since I have never looked at them and I bought the truck in april of 06. Plus The tag under the hood said they were 2.5 brakes. Well it turns out they were already swapped out to the 3 inch shoes and have plenty of meat left. I'm going to clean and lube every thing put a new axle seal in since there was some leakage on that side and put her back into service. One more thing to take off the 2 page to do list.

While you are under there you should clean the out the differential vent line. That was what was probably causing the seal to leak in the first place. I think there is a "sticky" on it... I know mine was so plugged it took a drill bit to clear it.... its on the top of the axle on the drivers side. Easy to do.

Already broke it off 6 months ago. I'm going to go the route of a vent on the fill plug.
