Question Weird Noise

The other day i was driving home and i heard like a clunk and then it turned into a noise like a bad idler pulley so i took the belt off and fired the truck up and it still made the noise so that narrowed it down to all the gear driven componets so i turned the wheel back and forth didn't change the noise so it's not the steering pump. So i'm at a loss of what to do it could be the vacum pump, the injector pump, or the dowl pin might have come out and i got lucky and it fell to the bottom of the case instead of coming out the side. Or would it even be possible for it to come out and not go through the case and maybe be vibrating in the bottom of the case or stuck between the case cover and the front of a gear making that noise. I'm going to go ahead and take the cover off to go ahead and fix the dowl pin if thats not what it is. i also recently put a govenor spring in the pump is there something i might have messed up in there. And has anybody had a vacum pump go bad on them, the noise is kinda like a bad bearing on a idler pulley.
Thanks......Derrick

Does it go away if you push in the clutch?

I don't think that the g360 has a dust cover on the bellhousing. I'm pretty sure it's coming from the drivers side of the motor right up front wear all the acesories are. It could be the tranny it's self but changing gears doesn't chane the noise or make it go away.

Could be the bearing at the front of the vacuum pump.

I have lost about 3 to 4 psi of boost in the last month and the truck dosen't seem to have the same get up and go that it did when i first put the injectors and the gov spring in. Could it be the lift pump starving the injector pump and making it cavitate like a hydralic pump does when the get low on fluid.

If it is that bearing can i just replace it or do i have to buy a hole new vacum pump. I have a place pretty close to where i live called bearings incorperated, they have every bearing you could ever think of, and if they dont they can normally order it. Is it a common type bearing that they could get or is it special.

I think a bearing shop would have no trouble getting you one.
