weird noise

ok so i just got done adjusting my idle back to about 550 and now when its in gear and the ac is on i hear a deep noise coming from around the turbo or exhaust, but it goes away if i bring up the rpms just slightly. so first i checked the turbo for shaft play <NONE > so i am stumped at what this could be, any ideas, think its safe to drive while this is occuring?

Could be worn motor mounts and some vibration caused by them. Turn the idle up to 650 and let it fly.

Is part of the exhaust plumbing rattling against something?

no its too deep of a rattle to be the exhaust, but the motor mount thing does make good sense to me, because mine look to be in really bad shape, so is this vibration something i can get away with, or do i really need to fix it?

If your motor mounts are really bad, when they finally let go the motor will drop and make a big mess of the radiator, fan, and fan shroud.

and when you have less rpm the motor is going to vibrate more, if there bad do them asap, and if the oil pan is bad do it at the same time
