how much methonol % wise does the product "heat" have in it? hopefully i will be able to get some real methonol monday, but until then i would like to play however i want to play safely!

 

Just get a jug of windshield washer fluid. The ordinary cheap stuff is about 50% methanol.

 

i tried some WW fluid... said it contains Methonol, i highly doubt the mix was 50/50.

 

The heat stuff is pretty close to 100% meth if I'm not mistaken. (Be aware that some of the gas-driers is Isopropal alcohol, . . close). Also, look at the other brands closely as most are Meth and are less expensive than Heat.

The typical blue stuff is in the range of 20% to 30% for the winter blends.


Seems I read somewhere here that a member cyphered ~ One gallon of the blue stuff plus two bottles of the heat gave approximately a 50/50 blend.


Your mileage may vary.


Regardless, it's expensive to mix this way but it'll do well in a pinch.



Outside of your normal race vendors, check around for some local go-cart enthusiasts as they may know where to get the meth.

+20 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 7% methanol.

0 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 23% methanol.

-10 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 28% methanol.

-20 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 35% methanol.

-25 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 38% methanol.

-50 F Washer Fluid - Contains approximately 62% methanol.

 

Looks like -20 and a bottle of the meth Heet will just about do it.
