It took 2 weeks of dodging rain and darkness, but I finally finished it last night! This stuff is great! My SOTP meter says the water/meth is good for around 50 HP, and the EGT is easier to keep under control. It will still get too hot if I hold the pedal on the floor for too long in 5th, but by then I'm way over the speed limit. Smoke is less, just a gray haze. Tomorrow morning when traffic is light I'm going to plug in my scan tool and do some back to back runs to see how much the water/meth drops the intake temp. I'll let everybody know how that works out. More pics are in my gallery. Thanks to Proram for the great deal on the system and Iceman from the MDTDC for his advice on tuning. Oh, it'll still roll the black smoke until the water/meth kicks in. It just turns gray once the water/meth starts spraying. I can't believe the clutch is still holding!

COOL !!! A truck on booze...awesome! What %`s of water/meth are you using? And what type of meth, i.e. straight out of a can or washer solvent?

 

I'm running 50% methanol and tap water. We use methanol at work to control water in propane tanks, the boss said to take what I need.

 

Would that setup be an option for towing and how fast would you go through it?

 

Yes, it can be used for towing. The 50/50 mix I'm using has a lot of fuel in it, so I can run an alarming amount through the engine without putting out the fire. I run through nearly a quart a minute at WOT! Also I'm probably making 120 HP more than you, so the engine will accept more. For towing they suggest a 25% meth mix or plain ol' windshield washer fluid, and they sell an 8 gallon tank. Pulling a long hill I'd imagine you could go through a gallon pretty quick, but remember it's only used at high boost. You set it up to spray on about the top third of your boost, so it's not used until you're working the motor hard. http://snowperformance.net/default.asp

edit: There's no reason you have to use their tank, any chemical resistant plastic tank will work well. The price on their tank seems pretty steep to me...
