Waitin' for dark....

I did the headlight relay upgrade on my truck today while I was out at my brother-in-laws shop helping my nephew (showing him how to and letting him do it) block sand his '63 Pontiac LeMans 2 dr 4cyl 3spd. I found a really cool set of relays on Ebay that all slide together on their pigtails. Mounted them on the fender lip by the battery and hooked up 2 of them to the high beams and low beams. I'll use a 3rd to do the dual beam setup and the other 2 are for driving/fog lights on the BHWB (Big Honkin' Winch Bumper).

Next up, battery isolator and 2 aux batteries (one in the engine bay where the washer bottle sits and one in the bed for the roll bar lights, rear winch and A/C inverter.

So how'd it go? I noticed a big difference with standard halogens, but with SilverStars it's flat out amazing.

By the time it got dark I had consumed several beers and a few margaritas, so no test drive last night. I'll check it out tonight, if my buddy doesn't show up with beer first.

The Silverstars won't hurt anything, but you probably won't notice a big difference if you don't do the relays.

I put in Silverstars before the relay upgrade and they helped a little. After the relays, wow! It's like day out there at night.

It also helped to re-aim the headlights.
