vibration driving me crazy!!!

My truck has a vibration at 35mph and I never quits no matter how fast you go. I have taken all six tires off and rebalanced them, and they were out of balance and that helped. The vibration is more a bounce and it can get really bad like it is going throw you off the road. I checked the tie rod ends and ball joints and didnt notice any slop. any ideas, could wheel bearings cause it. I dont feel the vibration in the steering wheel as much as I do in the seat of my pants.

Check your drive shaft for a tight u-joint.

U-joints, Carrier Bearing, wheel bearings or a worn/cracked spindle,
worn/missing engine or tranny mount...
even a missing exhaust hanger or bend that allows the pipe to touch the floor..missing/worn body or truck bed mount...
the list could go on....

I belive if it were driveline related, you would feel it more in the wheel than the chasis, so I would start with a good thorough underbody inspection as a first step...

x3 on the U-joints. Replace all the rears with Spicer.

Look if one wheel has a lot of weights on it. warped wheels will also cause this.

Question

You say you balanced the tires? Did you check them for tread bulges? I had one that was so bad it acted like a wheel chock at slow speeds! If it is a bounce in the truck not just a humming vibration I would think it is directionally parallel to the tires. Maybe wheel bearings, carrier bearings in the diffs, Front axle u-joints and bearings if 4x4, I don't know if you could bend an axle shaft?, Any thing rotating the same as the tires. Now if it is a buzzing like vibration and can be felt at speed through the shifters or floor, it probably drive-line U-joints, pinion bearing, slip joint in shaft. I guess engine mounts could cause a bouncing effect.

Most of what has already been said is what I would guess also. My brother had a bad vibe and bounce with his 1/2 ton 94' but I think it was death wobble. Not sure.

Thats my .02

Don't forget a warped rotor or caliper hanging up could also cause some of this...Mark
