VE core on e-bay

Anybody looking for a core, this one's got 3 hours to go. Prolly go through the roof but it's reasonable right now.

I was bidding on it up to $150, this was before you posted here though, they can have it after that point.

It went for $284. Looking from the picture it doesnt look that hot, but depending on how the inside looked it could have been a good deal for someone. They want some big money for some of those internal parts.

I spent more than that when my first KTA head/rotor went out. I had to replace the cam, rollers, springs, etc, etc. It adds up real fast.

I took my VE out and put in a PDR-tuned rebuild because I was at 180kmiles and towing to places you almost can't get to. So I have a used 180kmile pump in a bag full of WD40 and oil. I'm not sure what I should do with it.

I could:
1. Hang onto it, make sure it doesn't rust, keep it for an emergency backup.
2. KTA it. But I don't really need that for the towing I do, and the rest gets $$$$.
3. Rebuild it as a spare for what I now have.
4. Sell it, but it's worth more than a core, so no one will want that.

I'm still debating this with myself. I don't want to hijack this thread, so PM me if you have any ideas.

DBF, don't worry about hijackin this thread, it wasn't goin anywhere anyways. As much as I'd like to take it off your hands, you are right, no one will want to give you a good price. But you never know. I say keep it and do either 1,2, or 3.

DBF, that sounds like a good way to keep the pump from rusting..........all i have done with my spare is put wd40 in in the fuel inlet.

What do you all think of just putting it in a bag of oil?

Why not go down to your local gun shop and buy some of the spray lube they sell for storing firearms? I beleive it is sold as aresol packing grease....
