Ve ????

OK a couple months ago I got a new VE for free (old recall) and its been great so far ,But now its doing something strange ! If I park facing up hill the engine cranks and cranks and cranks for 5 sec. or so then fires real lightly .Now if I point down hill it will fire right off with a fast crisp start with it not even making a full rotation.?? new filter/ new pump/ full tank or low tank lp changed last year
What is causing this

Thanks guys

Its draining back or getting air. I don't think its related to the IP change.

I've noticed with all 4 of the VEs I've owned in the past 6 years that the engine idles faster when braking to a stop and then when stopped completely, the idle comes back to normal. I've not tried the hill thing but it sure sounds like you have an exaggerated version of this issue

Sounds like an air leak.

After changing lift pump my 93 is doing the same thing. Have you found a solution to the problem?

Could it be that the lift pump was from Napa and not a factory item? Has anyone experiened problems with the quick connect fuel fitting?

Apply light air pressure to the fuel tank to see if the fitting leaks. It's very possible for you to have a worn or damaged o-ring in the fitting causing an air leak.
